Poké (pronounced poh-kay) is the Hawaiian word which means “to slice” or “to cut”. Poké is rooted back to when native Hawaiian fishermen would serve the dish raw by slicing fresh catches-of-day, tossing with sea salt, and topped off with seaweed.
